Time Off with Pay
Paid Holidays Full time employees have 8 paid holidays per year:
* EIS will publish a
list of holidays each year. Paid Vacation The vacation allowance per year for full-time employees is as follows:
* Partial years are pro-rated by completed months in service.
For example, if an employee starts working for EIS on July 15,
at December 31, the employee will have earned 5/12 or 4 days of
the first year's allotted vacation time. Rounding will apply
in uneven situations (>=.5 rounds up; <.5 rounds down).
Any unearned (i.e. advanced) vacation days must be repaid to
EIS if the employer-employee relationship is terminated for any
reason. In the event of involuntary termination, any unused
year vacation from the current year employment will be paid to
the employee in their final check.
To request X days of vacation, the employee must request
the vacation 4X calendar days in advance of the vacation.
For example, if an employee would like to take 3 days of vacation,
the request must be formally received 12 calendar days in advance.
This procedure allows EIS management to appropriately plan and
adjust resource schedules. To request vacation, send an electronic
mail message to your Project Manager. Please state the days requested.
Your Project Manager must approve your request. The minimum
vacation time requested is half of a day. The complete procedure for requesting time off & determining available vacation days can be found within the "Procedures" section of this handbook. Jury Duty
Full time employees serving Jury Duty are paid their full salary
less any Jury pay. Jury Duty-related expenses, including driving,
will not be reimbursed by EIS. EIS management should be notified
immediately upon receipt of a Jury summons. Prior to receiving
salary treatment during Jury service, a copy of the Jury summons
and Jury service check must be provided.
