   Chrysler HLAPI Interface
Developed for FedEx Customer Critical, this project linked the FDXCC order entry system directly with the supply chain application of one of their biggest and most important customers: Chrysler Motors. Once in place, FDXCC customer service agents could get simply Chrysler's pre-determined authorization number for an order requiring shipping and instantly receive all the relevant specifics of pickup location, delivery location, pieces, weight, ready time, etc. Not only did this greatly improve order entry time as well as accuracy, FedEx found they were identifying data discrepancies in Chrysler's system before Chrysler was. This additional "value add" was not lost on Chrysler.

Technologies deployed:   30 C modules utilizing socket-based IPCs, integration of HLAPI C libraries from Sun Microsystems as well as Sun's 3270 Terminal Emulation Server, Ingres II RDBMS, Sun Enterprise Servers
Tasks performed:   Application Design, Software Development and Testing
EIS Team size:   1 engineer
Project duration:   9 months
